An Overview of Physical Activity Legislation in the 111th Congress
A wide variety of physical activity legislation was introduced in the 111th Congress ranging from large bills encompassing a variety of programs and initiatives to bills with a very specific and narrow focus. This report, compiled by NCPPA, provides an overview of physical activity legislation that has been introduced to date in the 111th United States Congress. The document includes, bill numbers, titles, lead sponsors, brief descriptions, latest actions, and related to strategies outlined in the Plan. We are currently prioritizing advocacy efforts around the Plan for the 112th Congress. We will be sharing information and plans as they are finalized. NCPPA is maintaining a database of physical activity legislation introduced in the 112th Congress. It is updated at least once a month. The Non-profit & Volunteer sector will serve as a cross-cutting team to support and mobilize federal and state policy priorities of the Plan.
Sector Fact Sheets Available For Your Use
NCPPA has created a Fact Sheet for six of the National Physical Activity Plan's Sectors. Each sheet features a variety of facts, figures and/or examples of successful programs pertaining to that Sector as well as lists the implementation strategy priorities. Please feel free to use and share the sheets as you see appropriate-load them on websites, distribute them in meetings, use the facts and figures as support in written pieces, etc.
