Get Involved

There are many ways to get involved with the National Physical Activity Plan (NPAP). Increasing awareness of the Plan through communications efforts at your organization is vitally important to the Plan's success. Equally important are the implementation, evaluation, and revision of the Plan.

Increasing Awareness

The National Physical Activity Plan communication team has developed a series of communication tools that you can use within your own organizations to help spread the word.  Please be sure to check back regularly as each quarter will feature new and fresh materials.

Implementation

The National Physical Activity Plan (NPAP) includes over 250 recommendations across 8 societal sectors, all aimed at increasing physical activity.  The National Coalition for Promoting Physical Activity (NCPPA) is spearheading implementation of the NPAP and is actively seeking organizations (Coalitions, Non-profits, Businesses) interested in implementing the NPAP.  If your organization is interested in helping implement the NPAP, please click here.

Evaluation

From early on in the development of the National Physical Activity Plan (NPAP), emphasis has been placed on measurement of the NPAP.  The effort to evaluate the NPAP is being spearheaded by the Prevention Research Centers at Washington University in St. Louis, The University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, and the University of South Carolina

Updating and Revision

The National Physical Activity Plan (NPAP) is a web-based document which enables it to be dynamic, reflecting the current states of science and policy.  If your organization would like to become involved in the process for updating and revising the NPAP, please click here.
